I got a job as a RWC and now I have to find a phone that’s been used at least a year on contract (because that will be cheaper than buying the phone brand new from the company since I’m keeping my old number AND using the company provided phone (mainly because I’m a personal assistant as well and I also kind of hate the company provided phone (the Samsung Repp because it’s soooo slow (IMO) …. ) and it appears that going backwards in technology is more simple to do in the Blackberry world vs the Android world (PLUS then as a RWC I can show customers the difference in the two! So added benefit) and I’m just not sure which Blackberry is best for me …. PLEASE HELP!!

I’ve been looking at the Blackberry Tour, Pearl, Pearl Flip and Bold – Because they all have a flash along with the camera which I need. AND, as I type this, I realize the Flip has a smaller screen so maybe that con outweighs the smaller phone benefit as far as internet browzing …. I don’t make many calls …. I use the internet a lot (besides apps) …. and I visit PostSecret on an at least weekly basis.

So …. based on this info, what would you recommend?? Any REALISTIC tips would be great, I haven’t had a blackberry since roughly early 2010 …. Thanks!

For starters, an iPad buyer gets all the hardware and the operating system from Apple itself. Put simply, there is no real choice regarding size, cost, service and support, features, and so on. In other words, it calls for a complete redesign of the device.

Apple obviously doesn’t want to change what’s working so well, so they haven’t made these changes. But other manufacturers have made these changes. Their tablets currently have powerful processors far superior to the one in the iPad. It is starting to make a difference because the iPad is unable to handle applications which need a powerful processor.

Replacements: Another problem with trying to keep the technology walled off is that it makes service and support a lot harder. Apple doesn’t replace batteries – it replaces the entire device. On the other hand, many other manufacturers can provide service for just about any individual part inside their devices.

iTunes: iPad users are forced to sync with iTunes for transferring downloads purchased from another device to the iPad. The Android marketplace has no such tangled procedure required. Users can buy apps on any device and send it straight to the tablets without any syncing required.

The sum of it is that consumers need to think about the choices. The iPad offers a cool and hip device with no freedom or options except what Apple allows. The Android tablet is likely to be closer to what the consumer really wants, since there is so much choice from many different manufacturers.
